
Helping addicted and wounded women avoid prison and enjoy Christ’s healing.
Verla is a Chaplain providing spiritual care and music experiences at the All Faiths Chapel, serving adults with developmental/intellectual disabilities at Beatrice State Developmental Center (with involvement for over 40 years). Verla also serves as supply Pastor and Musician at First Baptist Church in Beatrice, Nebraska, and officiates weddings and funeral services. Verla also provides Hospice Chaplaincy care through Beatrice Community Hospital. Verla’s other activities have included: prison ministry with Katie Souza Ministries and Women of Faith, devotions at Teen Challenge for Women in Beatrice, and vocal and piano playing support at nursing homes.
Currently, in addition to board membership with Reformation at the CrossRoads, Inc. -- Verla serves on the All Faiths Chapel Foundation Board and the Beatrice Noon Kiwanis Club Board as Past-President. Verla received a Master’s Degree from Doane College and Clergy Certification from Cotner College.
Verla has a passion for women who’ve been wounded or broken, with a personal understanding the pain of brokenness – and possesses strengths in the areas of encouragement and relationship-building.
