What To Do At A Time “Such As This”?

Updated: May 23, 2022

You may be saying to yourself, “I have never dealt with anything like this COV-ID 19 virus. I don’t know how to act or be or do.” At-risk women, that have never been at the place that they are at, are asking that same question. We are all in unfamiliar territory. You may ask what should I do?

Are you checking with your family, friends, co-workers, elderly neighbors, church, or small group Bible study members? Do they need anything? Another way to reach out to others is through texts and sending some love Scriptures about how God loves them so much that He is with them through the serious viruses as well as the ordinary common cold . . . and holds them up with His right hand (Is. 41:19). At-risk women need similar kinds of gestures because they are forgotten at times. Who have you forgotten who may need help?

Have you thought of buying gift certificates for small business owners since some businesses have to close because of city emergency plans? Can you spare a roll of toilet paper or disinfectant for a neighbor? Many children are home from school, and their parents (which include at-risk women) may need a break from their kids just to go to the grocery store. Who can you help?

Who needs prayers? I know I do, and most people (including at-risk women) appreciate prayers. That’s one of the easiest, but most overlooked, things that you can do for another human being. We are all vulnerable and we all need each other. God created us to be in relationships, just like He is in a relationship as Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.

If you are not sure what to do, call a friend and ask them for suggestions and make it a group project. Wouldn’t that be a hoot! Could you imagine a group of friends getting together to show another business owner, lonely elderly neighbor, or an at-risk woman and her family the love of Christ?
